Bricolage Cushion | Square

$317 $220

Bricolage explores how colour and structure interact, within a regular framework, to create abstract interlocking compositions. This design came directly out of Margo’s handwoven artworks, and the fabric construction is based on the Lampas handweaving technique – Bricolage exemplifies the studio’s approach of Art-into-Industry.

Colour and mathematics are the twin concerns of Margo’s work – the effects of colours in combination – the relationship between colour and proportion – and the division of the rectangle. In this design the warp and weft are equal, giving the nocturne colour an even and solid quality. The texture is very robust and reminiscent of needlepoint.

Due to the scale of the design repeat, each cushion side will feature a different cut of the cloth.

Cut of the cloth: These cushion covers are cut from a fabric with a large design repeat, therefore the cushion you receive might be a different section of the pattern than the cushion shown in the image. Cushions tend to not be identical to each other, or the same on both sides.

Large scale pattern repeats are a signature feature of Margo Selby designs, it makes our cushions unique and dynamic.
