Canterbury Rug
The Canterbury rug is a multi coloured textural stripe, woven as a warp faced rug. The design incorporates 12 curated colours, carefully chosen to complement and contrast with each other to create a vibrant yet versatile product.
Our Hand Loom rugs are hand woven using a warp faced technique similar to that of velvet weaving. There are two warp beams of colour which are interlaced in the weaving to bring the colour to the surface, the yarns create a loop which is cut to create a soft pile finish.
A returnable rug sample (40cm x 80cm) is available for this design. We offer returnable (and refundable) samples of our rugs for both our trade and retail customers. These samples are presented in a 1:1 scale, offering a section of the design's intricate details.

Craftsmanship: Hand Loom
Pile Composition: 100% Wool
Hand Loom - Specific to orthogonal designs, warp-faced hand loom rugs are traditionally woven on a horizontal loom. During the making process – a technique similar to that of velvet - makers insert rods into the warp, determining the depth of the pile height, which is then cut; the resultant rug is dense and sumptuous.

Underlay + Rug Care
An underlay provides cushioning that increases the longevity of a rug; we advise customers to use a good quality anti-slip underlay, for this reason, and to prevent a rug from creasing and slipping, whether on a carpet or a hard floor. Underlay also protects the floor covering beneath from transference of colours or fibres from the back of the rug.
