While you're visiting us in the Studio

We welcome visitors to our studio and workshop in Whitstable, with many coming from far and wide and often making a day, or a weekend, of it. We’re frequently asked where to eat, where to stay, and which local shops and makers we return to again and again.

This page brings together a small selection of places we like and often recommend, to help you enjoy your time in our hometown.

Our studio is open to visitors Monday to Friday, 10am - 4pm. We are a working weaving studio, during your visit you may see the team at work on ongoing projects and commissions. We also host occasional open studio events and sample sales; if you’d like to hear about these, you can sign up to our newsletter below.

Where to Eat

THE SPORTSMAN | The Five Course Tasting Menu is an absolute treat - featuring custom-made tableware by local artisans Riv+Reed.
GRAIN + HEARTH | Get in early for the best selection of seriously good pastries and danishes - serving coffee and brunch until 2:30pm.
WHEELERS OYSTER BAR | Counter culture: Bag a prime seat at the counter or enjoy a beach picnic with your selection of fresh and smoked seafood from Whitstable's oldest restaurant.
HARBOUR STREET TAPAS | Tasty tapas and great for people-watching in a prime spot on Harbour Street.
THE LARDER | Great coffee, doorstop toasted sandwiches, and a lovely selection of deli staples. Say hello to Emily and Jonnie!
BIRDIES | Lovely French bistro that serves the best beef Wellington in town.
