Django Rug

£40 – £2,145

The Django rug is a bold rhythmic grid, a block design used as a structure to play with colour. The palette is rich and striking, deep red and hot pink are offset with light and dark tones to maximise contrast.

Each rug is handwoven by highly skilled weavers on two warp beams which alternate to bring the coloured blocks to the surface at varying points in the design. The Django rug is helping to keep hand woven production alive in India.

A returnable rug sample (80cm x 40cm) is available for this design. We offer returnable (and refundable) samples of our rugs for both our trade and retail customers. These samples are presented in a 1:1 scale, offering a section of the design's intricate details.

The Django rug is available to view in our Whitstable showroom. We welcome visitors 10am - 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Details

Craftsmanship: Hand Loom
Pile Composition: 100% Wool - Handwoven

Hand Loom – Specific to orthogonal designs, warp-faced hand loom rugs are traditionally woven on a horizontal loom. During the making process – a technique similar to that of velvet – makers insert rods into the warp, determining the depth of the pile height, which is then cut;  the resultant rug is dense and sumptuous.

Materials - Indian Chokla Wool – natural, durable, versatile, sustainable.

Care: Dry Clean Recommended

Underlay + Rug care

An underlay provides cushioning that increases the longevity of a rug; we advise customers to use a good quality anti-slip underlay, for this reason, and to prevent a rug from creasing and slipping, whether on a carpet or a hard floor. Underlay also protects the floor covering beneath from transference of colours or fibres from the back of the rug.
