SUMMER (1) – 1st & 2nd June 2019
SUMMER (2) – 1st & 2nd June 2019
WINTER – Date TBC
These creative two-day weaving workshops which are suitable for all levels from complete beginners through to advance weavers who may want to look at their work with a fresh approach or learn a new technique.
The weaving workshops are structured so that Margo leads the morning session on each day of the workshop, giving individual tuition to each student with the support of 2 expert weavers from the studio production team. The afternoon sessions will be run by the production team.
This workshop is designed to build confidence and freedom when working on a hand-loom. Our studio looms are set up in a variety of ways in preparation for this workshop, providing students with a great chance to experiment with different techniques and ideas. A wide selection of weft yarns is provided and students are more than welcome to bring along sketchbooks or sources of inspiration to feed into their work. At the end of the workshop students will leave with a selection of hand woven samples which reflect a range of different techniques and materials.
Alternatively, more experienced students wanting to explore a specific technique are also welcome to bring their own table top loom set-up and ready to weave. Students wishing do so will need to liaise with the studio before the workshop to ensure what you bring is suitable.
These workshops will take place in our Whitstable studio. Refreshments are provided throughout the day, but students will need to organise their own lunch, accommodation and travel. For students not in Whitstable our studio is only a 15-20 minute walk from the train station and we are happy to recommend places to stay and eat locally.
£300 per person to include all materials and wide selection of luxury and experimental yarns. Places can be booked now via our EVENTS page.
