A recent project has been for a book publication by Farrow and Ball, ‘Find it, Paint it, Love it’. The collaboration was with my friend Suzy Paisley, convservation biologist and co-founder of Survival Arts. Suzy and I share a love of colour, pattern and textiles. The combination of Suzy’s furniture painting using ‘Farrow and Ball’ Colours has been used with our Congo fabric on this ‘Newtiful’ Chair.
Suzy decided to revive an old chair that needed decorating and chose the theme of the great crested newt as she is inspired by their glamorous movements and newts are the closest thing we have in the UK to a dragon. Suzy has been inspired by the life cycle of a newt and this has been reflected in the paintings on the chair.
The ‘Congo’ fabric is inspired by African Tribal design and oversized woven twill patterns.
