17th - 21st April 2022 Margo Selby Studio are pleased to announce the following workshop in their Whitstable studio. Creative Weaving Workshop: We are pleased to announce that we will be holding an extended 5-day version of our Creative Weaving workshop at our Whitstable studio over Easter from 17th-21st April 2022. The workshop is suitable for all levels from complete beginners through to advanced weavers who may want to look at their work with a fresh approach or learn a new technique. Together we will build confidence and foster a free and creative approach when working on a hand-loom. Our studio looms are set up in a variety of ways in preparation for this workshop, providing students with the opportunity to experiment with different techniques and ideas. At the end of the workshop, students will leave with a selection of handwoven samples reflecting a range of different techniques and materials. More experienced students wanting to explore a specific technique are welcome to bring their own tabletop loom set-up and ready to weave – please contact the studio in advance for guidance. Once booked, our studio staff will contact you to discuss your weaving level and requirements. We are happy to provide advice prior to the workshop to ensure you get the most out of the experience. Please advise if you wish to bring your own table loom. Or if you wish to purchase a table loom through us, please let us know by 6 weeks prior to the course. If required, we can provide travel and accommodation information. Our Studio is located minutes from Whitstable beach on the Kent coast. These workshops will take place in our Whitstable studio. Refreshments are provided throughout the day, but students will need to organise their own lunch, accommodation and travel. For students not in Whitstable our studio is only a 15-20 minute walk from the train station and we are happy to recommend places to stay and eat locally. The course is suitable for adults (aged 16 and upwards). Materials and tools are provided but students are also welcome to bring their own (all are optional):
- A sketchbook, photographs or any other sources of inspiration that they might like to use.
- A selection of yarn
- Scissors, pens, notebook and squared paper.
