Investing in education and community
Our dedication to supporting rug making communities takes many forms. We are proud members of Care and Fair, a program that supports education and improves the quality of schooling in the communities where our rugs are made.
This membership reflects our understanding that the future of hand knotting depends not just on preserving techniques, but on creating opportunities for the next generation of artisans.
In 2025, Margo Selby and her husband, Peter Auckland — our in-house rug consultant with over 45 years of industry experience — furthered this commitment by funding the first-ever house sports uniforms for pupils at Haji Saheb Ali Khanapur School.
While this might seem removed from rug making, it represents our holistic approach to supporting these communities, recognising that thriving craftspeople come from thriving communities.
