HOWARTH is a beautiful Harlequinesque design – rich in colour and jewel-like in form – a sumptuous chromatic chandelier of pattern.
The original inspiration for the HOWARTH fabric design came from a study of jewellery at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London. Margo spent time in these galleries – as well as with the textiles collections – over a long period. It is one of the most comprehensive surveys of craft and design in the world, holding thousands of cut jewels. Margo seeks to express some of this opulence and exquisite preciousness in pattern and colours.
Curated collections such as that of the V&A are invaluable to artists and designers – as repositories of our shared cultural heritage and as inspiration – we have missed them greatly over the last year, and hope that they will always be accessible to all in the future.
HOWARTH fabric – available by the metre or as cushions and decorative throws.
