Vexillum IV, 2020
As lockdown lifts across the UK, Margo is so pleased to have been given the opportunity to show her artworks in the long-planned solo exhibition: APERTURE.
The new Vexillum Series will be presented alongside a selection of Margo’s earlier handwoven artworks, and, for the first time in a gallery, the works Zoetrope II and the large-scale Vexillum IV. It really is so different to see these works in-the-flesh, to feel their full sensory impact, visual and tactile – we are joyful that people are able to experience art in-person once again. The last time Margo’s work was publicly exhibited was for Collect 2020 at Somerset House – here Margo won the Collect Open Award for her immersive triptych installation. We are very excited to see the works all together, presenting a story of the evolution of Margo’s practice as an artist over the last five years particularly.

The body of work for APERTURE has been curated to showcase Margo’s exploration of optical effects; her exploration of off-kilter symmetry, pull-focus and forced perspectives, and of course colour – always Margo’s central concern.
Margo will be giving a talk, in person, on Saturday 22nd May at the gallery for Textiles In Action day. Places can be booked via The Corn Hall website.
