We are very proud to have designed 4 cushions for the Fine Cell Work program. Each cushion is individually hand-crafted by a trained prison inmate, taking between 80 – 100 hours of needlepoint work.
These hand crafted cushion are available to pre-order through both Margo Selby and Fine Cell Work. We expect the first pieces to be ready in October 2018.
Fine Cell Work is a charity which makes hand-crafted products in British prisons. Teaching prisoners high-quality needlework skills boosts their self-worth, instills self-discipline, fosters hope and encourages them to lead independent, crime-free lives.

The Tonga cushion design is derived from magnified shapes found in woven twills, which have been uniformly repeated and layered.
Maze is a design derived from Margo Selby’s handwoven artworks which explore colour and composition within a square boundary. Margo’s artworks are made in the spirit of the Buahaus weavers who created woven textiles both for their value as an aesthetic artwork as much as a functional item used in the home; just like the Fine Cell Work cushions.
Both designs have been produced in 2 colour-ways: Brights and Blues
